How GradeL Computes Grades

GB GradeL uses a points grading system to compute marking period grades. Simply put, the grade is calculated as the student's total points earned divided by the total points possible for the marking period. A student may be excused from an assignment using codes. If an assignment is excused, the marking period total for that student will not include that assignment.

GB Semester grades are a weighted combination of two marking periods and a final exam. The teacher may set the weights by selecting Period Weights from the Setup menu. The default is 0.40, 0.40, 0.20. Be sure to use decimals not percents. Your total should add to 1.
